The National Bed Federation (NBF) has announced the first line-up of judges for the four retailer categories for the 2024 Bed Industry Awards.
A panel of three well-known and highly respected names in the furniture and retail industries will decide who will be crowned the winners at the NBF Bed Show gala dinner and awards ceremony on Tuesday 24 September at the Telford International Centre.
The retailer awards shine a spotlight on UK and Irish bed retailers of all shapes and sizes that predominantly stock NBF-approved brands to highlight their achievements from the past 12 months.
This year, the four retailer categories include Small and Large NBF Retail Champion of the Year, Online Bed Retailer of the Year and National Bed Retailer of the Year.
From the world of publishing, Jarrod Bird, sales director at Interiors Monthly makes his debut as an awards judge with almost 25 years in the sector. A highly experienced furniture industry professional, Jarrod started his career with Cabinet Maker before co-founding Interiors Monthly magazine in 2007 with three of his work colleagues to create a one-stop trade publication for the furniture, beds and flooring industry.
Seasoned judge, Bernard Eaton, MD of Greenwood Retail, returns to the panel with over 38 years of B2C experience across various sectors. Bernard has proven expertise in effective retail sales and marketing methodology and is a regular trade magazine columnist. Having shared his expertise for seven years, Bernard is no stranger to the awards process.
Dan Squires of Big Furniture Group completes the trio of retailer judges. Based in Norfolk, Dan has been a journalist since leaving university in 2009 and has acquired particular expertise within the furnishing industry. Previously working for Cabinet Maker, he is now the editor at the furniture industry publication Big Furniture Group.
